THANK YOU to our YOUTH GROUP for inspiring our congregation in helping to provide 24 bikes for children in our community in need through the Blue Santa Program. Officer Joey Quiroga was truly touched by the generosity of our congregation. And, the best part – children will receive these bikes and be blessed with the experiences they will have because of your generosity!
“As many of you know, earlier this year our youth group held a fundraising luncheon in September, as part of this year’s God’s Work. Our Hands. project which was #FeedGalveston. We also had a Thanksgiving luncheon fundraiser last month. The monies donated by our congregation for these 2 fundraisers was used to purchase bicycles for the Blue Santa project. Last year, we donated 16 bicycles. This year, with the additional help provided by personal donations from some of our congregants, we were able to purchase 24 bikes – 12 boys and 12 girls. A special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ryan; Mr. and Mrs. Noah Rice and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Healy whose donation’s made it possible to increase our gift this year. We would also like to thank Mr. and Mrs. James Agrella who not only helped make the purchase possible but together with Larry Ryan and Chris Cruz transported the bikes to the church. In addition, my personal thanks to Christine Muehe, who volunteered to head up the project this year – and did a great job! Lastly, we thank the congregation for supporting our fund raising activities which made this outreach project not only possible, but a huge success.”
